Learning is fun in Reception/Year 1!

Birmingham airport trip - March 2018

Reception/KS1 enjoyed a trip to the airport for our spring term topic - transport. We boarded the x12 bus into the train station to watch the trains where we got to meet Rory the Lion! We then took the monorail into the airport to watch the bags being checked in and the planes taking off and landing. It was a very fun learning experience :)

Safer Internet Day - 2018

Today we talked about how to stay safe online. We listened to 'The three monsters' story about how they posted up pictures online for a competion and how one naughty monster put a rude comment about their pictures. The children agreed that the monsters did the right thing by telling their teacher who then deleted the comment and asked the monster to apologise. We also created our own pictures about something we really enjoy at school and said a nice comment to each of our friends. We got to make emoji faces too, it was a fun day! #SID2018
For the Autumn term our topic is CELEBRATIONS. Here's some of the things we've been up to so far...

What we've been doing this week.

Week Beginning 13th November 2017

This week we have been talking about birthdays and how we celebrate them. We have also been learning about the Royal Family as it was Prince Charles birthday on Tuesday.  Throughout the week we have become familiar with the different members of the Royal family, talked about where they live (London) and compared Buckingham Palace to our own homes.

On Friday we had a "Royal Party" to celebrate Prince Charles birthday.

We also visited the cinema on Tuesday as part of the "Into Film Festival" where we watched Lego Batman. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed the movie. We were an absolute credit to Forest Oak School!

We love talking about our weekend and hearing what our friends did too. Please remember to bring "Sharing Diaries" into school every MONDAY so we can share our weekend news.

Every Tuesday we visit the Donkey Sanctuary in Sutton Coldfield.

We really enjoy learning how to take care of them.

Monday is Swimming day! We are getting really confident in the water and have lots of fun!
