Spanish

At Forest Oak School, it is our intention to offer a Spanish curriculum, which develops children’s love of learning a new language and culture and in doing so, develops a resilience in language learning, as well as an enjoyment of it. It is our aim that children develop their awareness of language sounds, and practise producing different vocal sounds. Through a greater knowledge and awareness of another language and other cultures, we would like to further develop the children’s understanding and acceptance that to do things differently, does not need to be better or worse, but can be merely different.

Spanish is offered as appropriate to selected groups of children, across the school, in line with their current presenting needs, strengths and priorities. It is offered as an option at Key Stage 4 for those children who are able to access the content.
