Alison McWilliam
I have been a school governor for just over 4 years, supporting special schools. I am the lead governor for English and Careers. Following 18 years in the entertainment and events industry, I spent 17 years at Solihull MBC in the Education and Children's Services Directorate as administrator for Solihull Schools Forum. Every Local Authority has a Schools Forum, whose membership comprises head teachers/principals, governors, TU representatives and Council officers. The Forum is primarily focused on school funding, including SEND. I have been a co-opted governor at Forest Oak and Merstone School now for nearly 5 years and sit on both the Resources and Performance and Standards Sub-committees. I enjoy walking, reading, yoga, keeping fit and socialising.
Tina Sands
After completing a degree in Law, I joined a utility business and worked in the technology function delivering projects, ultimately led the IT function and was a member of the Executive team running the business. I have subsequently worked as an independent consultant providing technology and business advice to clients. I have been a co-opted governor for Merstone and Forest Oak since 2019. I am a Justice of the Peace for Birmingham and Solihull. I play golf and enjoy travel, art and theatre.
Beverley Sharpe
I have worked at Merstone School for 38 years, firstly as a support assistant and now as a learning mentor and family support worker. I am very lucky that I have worked in the same job for 38 years at Merstone School and I still thoroughly love my job working with both the children and their families. I love swimming and going for walks with my son's dog.
Ruth Taylor
I work in finance and my skill set is banking and relationship management. I love to travel and socialising with family and friends. I am passionate about supporting our school, to give the pupils the best chance at everything life has to offer.
