Welcome to Forest Oak School Website. It is my privilege to lead Forest Oak school.
We are a special school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, aged from four to sixteen years old.
The school also has a 6th Form for students aged 16-18 years. In September 2018, our 6th Form relocated to the Solihull College Woodlands Campus, Auckland Drive - just a mile from the school main campus. The 6th Form continues to be part of Forest Oak School and specialist staff from the school work with the students in this environment with all it's facilities.
On the main site we have excellent facilities, which we share with Merstone School for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. We work as two separate schools, with some shared specialist facilities. Sited alongside Smith’s Wood Academy, we work in partnership towards provision of a broader range of flexible learning opportunities, according to individual pupils’ needs, across the campus of the three schools.
At Forest Oak School we have a highly committed and skilled team of caring staff who do all they can to support our pupils and help them to learn and to achieve their individual potential. As our Ofsted Report confirms, our pupils are offered a high quality education with many enriching opportunities. Our pupils enjoy their learning and we enjoy teaching them. We particularly value working closely with parents and carers because we know that where we work well together, pupils always achieve more.
I hope our website gives you the information you are looking for. If you would like to visit the school to gain first-hand experience of life at Forest Oak, please contact the school office. We hold regular tours of the school. Admission to the school is managed by the Local Authority EHCP team in conjunction with the school.
